Bible Deck

The Bible serves as the player’s deck of cards. It contains a collection of Verses, which can be drawn, played, or discarded throughout the game. Players build their Bible strategically, ensuring that they can adapt to different situations and increase their chances of success.

Verse

A Verse is an individual card within the Bible, representing a specific passage or event from Scripture. Verses come in different types, such as Beings or Events, and offer a variety of effects, from offense and defense to strategic abilities.

Player

A Player is an individual competing in Bible TCG, using their Bible (deck) and Hand to formulate tactics, manage resources, and defeat their opponent. Players must balance their Faith, Hope, and card interactions to emerge victorious.

Hand

The Hand is a Player’s personal collection of Verses drawn from their Bible during gameplay. It contains cards that can be placed as Faith or played for their effects. Managing the Hand wisely is key to executing strong strategies.

Hope

Hope represents a Player’s life force. Each Player starts with 20 Hope, which decreases when they take damage or suffer penalties. If a Player’s Hope reaches 0, they lose the game. Preserving Hope is a core aspect of survival and strategy.

Faith

Faith is the resource used to play Verses. Each Verse has a Faith cost, and Players must have Faith from the correct Era to play Verses from that Era.

  • Faith must be carefully managed to ensure access to strong Verses.

  • Mixing multiple Eras requires balancing different Faith sources, making deck-building a key strategic element.

Storyline

The Storyline is the designated play area where Beings are Created and reside.

  • It consists of five Slots, allowing Players to position their Beings strategically.

  • Movement, Challenges, and Interactions occur here, shaping the flow of battle.

Being

A Being is a card representing a biblical character or creature.

  • Beings have Strength and Health values, making them essential for offense and defense.

  • They reside in the Storyline and engage in Challenges and Interactions.

Create

To Create is to summon a Being from the Hand onto the Storyline.

  • Newly Created Beings entering the game cannot interact immediately.

Event

An Event is a one-time action card that triggers immediate effects.

  • Once played and resolved, it is sent to Exile.

  • Events provide strategic boosts, disruptions, or game-changing plays.

Play

To Play a Verse means to activate it for its intended effect.

  • Depending on the type of Verse, this could mean creating a Being, triggering an Event, or influencing gameplay in another way.

Strength

A Being’s Strength determines how much damage it can deal during a Challenge.

  • Higher Strength allows for more offensive power.

Health

A Being’s Health determines how much damage it can take before being Exiled.

  • When a Being’s Health reaches 0, it is removed from the Storyline.

  • Protecting important Beings is crucial for maintaining control of the storyline.

Interaction

An Interaction is any action taken by a Being, including:

  • Challenging an opponent.

  • Moving on the Storyline.

  • Performing unique abilities.

Challenge

A Challenge occurs when a Being uses its Strength to deal damage.

  • Beings can Challenge other Beings or, in certain cases, directly challenge the opponent’s Hope.

  • Winning Challenges requires positioning, Strength, and strategic planning.

Range

A Being’s Range determines how far it can Challenge on the Storyline.

  • Beings have a default Range of five Slots ahead of them.

  • Beings on the center Slots have full reach, while those on the left or right have limited reach.

Move

A Being may Move to a different Slot on the Storyline, allowing for:

  • Better positioning for future Challenges.

  • Avoidance of enemy threats.

  • Setup for defensive or offensive plays.

Block

A Block occurs when a Being stands in front of another, preventing direct Challenges to the opponent’s Hope.

  • The blocking Being must be removed first, making defensive play an essential part of the game.

Exile

To Exile a card means to remove it from active play and place it in the Exile pile.

  • Beings are Exiled when their Health reaches 0.

  • Events are Exiled after they resolve.

Exiled cards are typically inaccessible unless specific effects bring them back.

Draw

To Draw is to take a Verse from your Bible and place it into your Hand.

  • Drawing cards expands your options, allowing for better strategy execution.

Heal

To Heal means to restore lost Health to a Being, allowing it to remain in play longer.

  • Healing is a powerful mechanic for sustaining important Beings.

Return

To Return a Verse means to bring it back to a specified location.

  • This allows for powerful beings to be sent back to your opponent's hand.

Remove

To Remove a Verse means to take it completely out of the game.

  • Removed cards cannot be returned.

  • This is a powerful effect for neutralizing key threats permanently.

Created

A Being that has been Created must wait one turn before Interacting or Challenging.

  • This represents the Being acclimating to the battlefield.

  • Settling adds a pacing element to the game, preventing immediate attacks.
